Australian Cattle Dogs Essay

Australian cattle dogs or so called heelers have LOTS of names like the Australian cattle dog, Red heelers, Blue heelers, Australian heeler or even the Queens land of the best herding breeds ever!     If you were to see a blue or red dog how would you react? These dogs are called the Australian cattle dog.

 

These dogs were developed in the nineteenth century in Australia. Why were Australian cattle dogs made? They were made to work with cattle in the demanding heat in the out backs of Australia. How were Australian cattle dogs made? Well Australian cattle dog users believed that their genetics are a bit of Dingo, the Australian kelpie and the smooth colie.        Some people will dye their dogs different colors but these dogs white, blue and red.

 

This wonderful dog is not tall at all. A fully grown Australian cattle dog stands to about seventeen to twenty inches tall or (forty three to fifty one centimeters tall). A fully grown Australian cattle dog weighs about thirty five to forty five pounds! When they are fully grown dogs they are a medium sized dog.  They have three beautiful colors which are blue, red and white. These dogs are born white and as they grow up they get their colors, spots and markings. Their spot colors are tan, white and red. They have very dark colored eyes. Their ears are straight pricked ears. This wonderful dog’s coat is short, weather resistant, medium texture and very wired fur. These dogs are known for their strength, endurance, agility speed, their keen hearing and sense of smell.    They are on of the smartest dog breeds  in the world!    Australian cattle dogs have so many names.
